How can co-design, collaboration and innovation inspire us in our work?
60 people from across Queensland, NSW and Northern Territory have gathered together in Brisbane for a two day exploration into deepening practice, creating connections and designing for wiser action.
Thanks to NDS Queensland and Workforce Council, and the Art of Hosting Community of Practitioners for the invitation!
We checked in, hearing Who am I and what is my place in the world? Thanks Michelle Moss for the harvest below :)
Why have I chosen to be here?
Cause I need to!
My boss asked me to come and I've always been keen.
Cause I feel great when I'm part of this
I'm here to learn
To identify and learn to apply my strengths and work collaboratively
My principles are aligned and I want to check it out
To learn more for my work and my team
Longstanding commitment to collaboration which is often only one of the discourses
I am drawn to aoh, want to practice
Don't want to lose what we have in our team and our sector, find ways of sneaking stuff in..
Good time to be talking about practicalities
dealing with change - hosting self
deepening practice - 4 fold, open space
Making connections, to get help
put theory and practice together
trying to understand what is Art of Hosting
Asking the right questions, creating good questions
how to put art of hosting into practice
participatory processes to develop work culture and a great program
How to embody these practices
hierarchy and grass roots - how to shift organisational culture
invitation - practice and learn from everyone
learn, develop skills, techniques
embedding participatory leadership into my workspace team
community inclusion work
giving staff a voice
for an organisation to innovate
be flexible, move with time
to be able to provide strategic advice
looking at how to make the conversation with diverse group
to listen and hear how to translate into practice
strengthen muscle - holding conversation, being intentional, organisation transformation
art of hosting a rudder to help navigate in a peaceful way through a changing environment
deepen my skills
have a voice with my organisation - a regional voice
how do I move this way of working into the meetings outside my organisation
embedding in the organisation
What am I here to deepen?
Open space: What is the exploration I need to have now?
Transitioning in / through change?
what is it that I fear?
ok to sit in discomfort
acknowledge there are dying parts in old system
Is the change we want the change we need?
why are we changing something?
some changes you can't control
only control our response and actions
methodology of change
take people on journey of change
What are our strengths and opportunities in an increasingly commercial and market-driven environment?
What does the world look like if everyone you know and work with practiced participatory leadership?
The others are here today!
Just have to practice it together
How can an online harvest best serve us - during these 2 days and moving forwards?
the session was a bit of a struggle - and now have a site up and running
we have clarity around purpose - a place for sharing stories of practice!
theharvesthub.org - send photos, harvest notes etc to Mel
How can I make a compelling call?
power of circle to clarify what was wanted
learned there is more than one question
How can community service organisations employ innovation practice and leadership to best serve their communities?
Working regionally across programs
issue - invite to new future
be proactive - not reactive
feedback to management - want commitment to process of participatory leadership
If the collaborative egalitarian ethic of participatory leadership was fully embraced within an organisation, what alternative forms of organisational structure might emerge?

What's the clarity I now have?
