Phase one of Uniting Care Community's preparation for the National Disability Insurance Scheme culminated in two major workshops in April 2013.
The first, a two day Sensemaking event, saw more than 200 people respond to the question: “How do we build our capacity as an organisation and as individuals to respond creatively and sustainably to the future under the NDIS?” The purpose of the workshop was to collectively make sense of the challenges and possibilities ahead, in order to inform phase two of the work – the implementation phase. The second three-day workshop, attended by 132 people (including a few from outside UCC), was a Participatory Leadership workshop which aimed to build participatory process skills and practice within UCC.
